Octavia Spencer best known for her role as Constance Grady on the US sitcom Ugly Betty and as Minny, the outspoken maid in the 2011 film, The Help, walked over the red carpet along with her friend Josh Hopkins at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Spencer who had an outstanding performance in the movie The Help that brought her incredible critical acclaim and started buzz for various awards nominations, was looking happy walking over the red carpet with Cougar Town’s Hopkins on Sunday night. The 41-year old actress stated, I decided to rob Cougar Town, I’m a cougar tonight, but Josh is my dear friend, so I’m not going to put my claws in him.

She also added I thought it only fitting to have a good friend by my side who’s not a part of Team Help.

Josh had good things about Octavia saying to see your friend’s dreams come true, there’s really nothing that can make you happier and I’ve seen the blood, sweat and the tears, so she deserves this night. Maybe the world is just discovering her, but she’s been a talent for a long time. To see her explode in the public consciousness like this they will discover what I’ve known, her beauty and talent is a good time.
