‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ Rules US Box Office – MTV Awards Weekend!

Snow White and the Huntsman is at No. 1 spot at the US (North American) box office on this MTV awards 2012 weekend. The fantasy/ classic fairytale movie, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, brought in an estimated $56.3 million on its first weekend and rakes of $20.3 million from 3,773 locations on Friday (June 1).

Placing second spot is the third installment of “Men in Black” movie franchise with Will Smith’s science fiction comedy with $29.3 million. Marvel’s “Avengers” stands-on in third position, earning $20 million this weekend.

The blockbuster movie has raked over $550 million, since its debut last month, making it the third highest-grossing film of all time. Rounding out the top five places are “Battleship” at number four spot with $4.8 million and Sacha Baron Cohen’s “The Dictator” at number five place with $4.7 million.
