The movie is getting closer to hit the screens and creating a lot of heat between the fans and Summit Entertainment as well as the stars who have been frequently over the web or news.
Recently Summit Entertainment has sued a FanSite as they were promoting the saga but it wasn’t Twilight-approved, the lawsuit filed by Summit against Twilight.com’s head, Tom Markson stating that they have been illegally using the movie’s trademark to attract visitors into believing it is an official site and making profit.
That’s not it Summit also found out that this site has been using the Twilight intellectual property on his website in several ways, including posting links to download Twilight recordings, posting links for unauthorized Twilight contests and fake casting calls for the Twilight motion pictures. Summit also stated that Twilight.com has been driving customers to think that they had reached the official Twilight Motion Picture Web site.
Although this was not the first time that Summit had concerns with Markson, getting back in 2009 the production company cease and stop letters, as Markson was continuing with his illegal activities over the site and they have filed charges of false designation of origin, trademark infringement, trademark dilution, unfair competition and copyright infringement.
