We have been seeing the celebrations going at LA of the fourth film from the popular Vampire franchise, which is a romantic-sci-fi flick The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, but there is a new film set to be made in adaptation of Akira, and the lead female role has been offered to the Twilight lead actress, Kristen Stewart.
The original platform of this film is from manga/anime, the story takes place in the future city of New Manhattan (formerly Neo-Tokyo) and follows Kaneda (played by Garrett Hedlund), the leader of a biker gang tasked with saving his friend Tetsuo, who has potentially destructive psychokinetic abilities, from government medical experiments.
While the role of Stewart is playing as young girl Kei who’s Kaneda, love interest and the other roles in the film are being offered to Gary Oldman to play Colonel and Helena Bonham Carter for Lady Miyako. Once the star casting is set the filming will start in spring. After completing the Twilight series Kristen Stewart has been busy with her upcoming film Snow White and the huntsman, and also playing the role as Mary Lou in On the Road, directed by Walter Salles.
After carrying one of the best female character’s on Screen as Bella Swan for four years, now Kristen is on a streak of films lining up for her. The role of Kei starts off being the sister of fellow resistance fighter Ryu, and Kei is a powerful medium who cannot use psychic powers of her own, but can channel the powers of others through her body. But Kei and Kaneda do not get along when they first meet, and Kei at first seems to view Kaneda with contempt. After certain things go around them the duo start caring for each other and that leads to fall in love with each other.
