The 2012 divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is rapidly becoming the highest tabloid story of the year. Next to his headline-grabbing divorce news – Tom Cruise has been declared as the Hollywood’s highest-paid actor according to Forbes.

The “Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol” actor, who turned 50 on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 successfully pocketed a Hollywood’s top-earning performers bashing $75 million from his films from May 2011 and May 2012.

Cruise got a huge success after his film “Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol”, which was released last December, take in more than $700 million earnings globally. The “Valkyrie” movie also got rewarded well for the upcoming sci-fi movie “Oblivion”, which is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2013.

Leonardo DiCaprio was at the runner-up position; he was last year’s chart-topper along with comedian Adam Sandler with $37 million apiece. Taking the fourth spot was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson with $36 million, and the top five place is Ben Stiller with $33 million, who will next be appear in “The Watch”.
